Mindful Flow & Meditation
The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness- Sakyong Mipham
Service Description
Mindfulness practice focuses on mind-body knowledge rather than the physical postures, but yoga positions aid in the integration of the body, mind, and spirit. Both Yoga and mindfulness aim to quite the mind, in order to cultivate a deeper connection to an understanding of the self. The two combined together teach you to tune into your breath, pay attention to your bodily sensations and learn to accept reality as it is in that moment. Some of the benefits of mindfulness include decreased depression, increased emotional regulation, reduced anxiety and stress, better memory, and cognitive improvements. Our mindful yoga flow class are similar to a vinyasa flow in that we are linking breath to movement in fluid sequences. There is more emphasis on awareness (mindfulness) allowing more time at the start and end of practice to check in with ourselves. Ending with a guided mediation.
